OUR STORY
Bocas Getaways grew out of years spent working, one way or another, with companies that did this in Bocas, so the team knew how it should be done and knew the model worked. The first group arrived in 2019, as a way to take the VIP experience already on offer even further.
What stood out was a place people loved but found hard to come back to. Every provider worked on its own, getting here meant piecing together flights, boats and transfers, and it was hard to know whom to trust. Trips went into organizing instead of enjoying.
Today, Bocas Getaways plans the stays, boats, guides and events across Bocas del Toro. You just show up. And what every group should say when they get home is simple: the best trip of my life.
OUR STANDARDS
Nothing makes our list until it's been tested, and no stay is recommended until the team has seen it in person. Every group's feedback decides which partners stay.
SAFETY
If the sea or the weather isn't right, the boats stay in, even if it changes the plan for the day.
HOSPITALITY
Hospitality is where it all started: decades of looking after guests, a dedicated host for every group and the care you'd give your own family.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
The team lives and works on Isla Colón. Every recommendation comes from years on the island, not from a guidebook.

We work with more than 40 local guides, captains, chefs and businesses, and we hire locally. We're also the proud sponsors of the Escuela de Solarte, providing daily breakfasts for its students and donating equipment, infrastructure and school supplies, and we sponsor sports teams across the province, including the Bocas del Toro Provincial Baseball League and Bocas FC.
We ask every guest to help us look after the islands:
- Don't touch, pick up or feed wildlife, including starfish, sloths and dolphins.
- Look after the reef: don't stand on coral or take anything from the sea.
- Leave no trash on the beaches or in the sea, and use less plastic.
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
“I've traveled to more than 75 countries, and today I live in Bocas. Here I've seen so many people fall in love with the islands and never come back, because getting here and putting it all together cost them too much.
Bocas Getaways was born to solve that: we take care of the hard part, and you keep the best of the islands.
I come from a family that has been taking care of people for more than 30 years. That's where I learned that good service is measured by what the guest never had to ask for.
